Paved byway at Stonehenge - cycling is legal, but the route has been blocked by gates.

Paved byway at Stonehenge - cycling is legal, but the route has been blocked by gates

Once again, a National Trust sign refers only to pedestrians and to vehicles - cyclists might want to come in for a picnic, or even as a short-cut to the National Byway.

Poor cycle parking at Salisbury Museum

This restricted byway is the most overgrown and difficult track that I've experienced that is marked as National Cycle Network. I rode mostly in a rut with at times stinging nettles at least as high as my handlebars.

Big tractor with very intimidating looking contraption on the front on the road through Laverstock village. Driver is a long way back and their view must surely be quite obscured by that device. This in an area where there are advisory cycl ... [more]

When it has to be spelt out like that you can tell there's suppressed demand, and sure enough I sure a number of sheepish riders on there over the weekend of our stay.

Car storage has priority over cycle access to this path.

No Through Road except for buses?? surely bikes can get through too?

There's no connection between the A4 and NCN route 403 - but a short stretch of footpath could be upgraded.

To the left is the exit from Bowood House - the entry is another mile down the road. It'd be great if cycles could enter here, to encourage staff to commute from Calne by bike - it would also be possible to put in a very short shared-use li ... [more]

Big new riverside development in Bradford on Avon - absolutely no sign of any cycle facilities.

A bike ride from Chippenham to Calne. The spell checker suggested 'Calmer' for Calne. We found it anything but, dominated by this very busy road with heavy goods vehicles.

Tomorrow I'm going to ride around until I get stopped and claim that my wedding ring is bullion.

Unsigned but useful cycle routes to Warminster station (left) and Lidl supermarket (ahead).

Unsigned but very useful link from Warminster station to the town.

No cycling on the recreation ground, Bradford on Avon - although it would provide some very useful routes.

Cyclists certainly need to beware pedestrians here, but there's no need for a cycling ban.

Unnecessary cycle ban on a useful link in Marlborough.

Dropped kerbs and parking restrictions needed to open up this link to Marlborough Leisure Centre for cycling.

Much more cycle parking is needed in Marlborough

Waitrose is supporting the Marlborough Climate Pledge - how about putting in some cycle parking then?

Cycling is not encouraged in Marlborough

Stepped access to the former railway carrying NCN route 45 around Marlborough

The pub's 'bike park' is actually full of wheelie bins.

No cycling Location: Mortimer Street, Trowbridge.

A tempting alternative - much nearer to the entrance as well as being under cover - to the cycle parking at Waitrose in Salisbury.

These stands are a long way from the entrance of Waitrose in Salisbury (and even further from the other stores on the site). They are also just outside the covered area.
